Meet the team who work hard behind the scenes to keep your printers, scanners, and labelling solutions running smoothly:
Cath – Co-Founder & Director
What is your role at CDS?
My role covers everything from accounts and finance to business development and customer relationships, helping ensure the company operates smoothly and continues to grow.
What is your area of expertise?
My expertise lies in business development, finance, and creative thinking. I enjoy identifying opportunities for growth, developing new ideas, and helping shape the future direction of the business while keeping a close eye on the financial side of operations.
What is the best part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my role is building relationships with customers. I enjoy getting to know our clients, understanding their needs, and helping them find the right solutions for their business.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I love a side hustle, so at the moment I run a children's craft workshop business at a local garden centre. I also love spending time at home and in the garden, looking after our flock of 10 rescue chickens.
Dave – Co-Founder & Director
What is your role at CDS?
I support multiple areas of the business, including sales, warehousing, logistics, purchasing, and day-to-day operations. No two days are the same, and I enjoy getting involved wherever needed to help keep the business running smoothly.
What is your area of expertise?
With experience across purchasing, logistics, sales, and finance, I have a broad understanding of how the business operates and enjoy supporting different areas of the company.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of working at CDS is the people. As a family-run business, we've built strong relationships over many years, and I value being part of a close-knit team that works hard and supports one another.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy playing pool and snooker, the occasional round of golf, and keeping fit through regular gym sessions.
Shay – Co-Founder & Technical Director
What is your role at CDS?
I lead the technical side of the business, overseeing product knowledge, system development, and ensuring our customers receive reliable, high-quality solutions.
What is your area of expertise?
I specialise in thermal label printers and have extensive knowledge of their operation, maintenance, and optimisation. I enjoy helping customers find the right solution and keeping their equipment performing at its best.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy the engineering side of the role, from fault-finding and repairs to understanding how equipment works and solving technical challenges. There's a real sense of satisfaction in repairing a printer or a scanner that would otherwise have been discarded.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Socialising with friends and family, playing backgammon, and relaxing by the pool on holiday !
Dan – Senior Printer Engineer
What is your role at CDS?
I oversee printer and scanner servicing, repairs, and technical support. I work closely with both customers and the engineering team to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired to the highest standards.
What is your area of expertise?
I specialise in diagnosing technical issues and providing practical, reliable solutions. I enjoy combining technical knowledge with excellent customer service to help customers get the most from their equipment.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy the whole repair process, from identifying faults and troubleshooting issues to restoring equipment to peak performance. Helping customers and seeing a job completed successfully is always rewarding.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, camping, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
